CAR PARKING
St. Mary’s Church has been given the use of the Market (Tumpy) car park for 3 days (Friday 30th May - Sunday 1st June) during the Festival. If you are able to spare an hour or so to help with the parking please contact Peter Lloyd, tell him when you are available, and he will produce a rota. People who have helped at previous Festival Charity Car Parks say it’s not difficult and is great fun.
Sorry If You’ve Been Cold
We are so sorry that St. Mary’s Church has been so cold for our services. The heating system has broken down, been repaired and broken down again.
Be assured that we are doing our best to get it fixed as soon as possible, in the meantime please bear with us - oh! and put something warm on!
Peter Lloyd
Editor’s note
You can see from The Hay Parish Magazine May 1882 that heating the church is not a new problem:-
“CHURCH NOTES. At the Annual Parish Meeting on Easter Monday,
The Hot Water apparatus for warming the Church is to be made more effective by carrying additional pipes under the centre aisle, and a special offertory collection once a quarter, is to be devoted towards defraying the debt incurred by laying down the apparatus.”
PS I’m sure you’ll know the system HAS been updated since then !
