Music at St. Mary’s during the Festival

The programme of music which will be happening in St. Mary’s during the Festival. There will be a great deal of varied, high quality music on offer so do come along and support it. I would mention in particular two elements.

The Gala Organ Concert on June 6th‘The Bevington with Bubbles and Bunting’ - promises to be a real show stopper. It will be a popular programme themed to the Jubilee with lots of atmosphere and pizzazz and possibly a sing along finale! Our guest recitalist, David Boarder, comes from Hertfordshire and is a very fine player indeed.  As well as a great occasion, it will be an opportunity to raise some money for St. Mary’s. There will be some advance tickets available from church officers and members of the Music Committee. Do please help us by giving this event a big push in the community.

By contrast, the nightly ‘Noctures’ at 10.00pm will be oases of calm, reflective beauty.  Those who experienced them last year felt that they were a highlight of the Festival, so why not make them part of your day for the period of the Festival?

Finally, I would like to thank the members of the Music Committee for all their help and hard work. They are great to work with – full of fun and ideas and real grafters!
