The Bell Bank Club

Extracts from The Bell Bank Club Report

Now that the weather has been a little kinder to us recently we accepted a very kind invitation to tea in the garden at The Old Rectory Cusop by Tony Charles and Sheila Leighton. Whilst in the garden the sun got hotter and hotter and we sensibly went in-doors. Sheila provided every thing for the delicious tea which was laid out so nicely. A raffle followed and Dorothy thanked Sheila for her hospitality and presented her with a gift and card.

July 8th we decided to have a picnic outside the room in which our meetings are held. Fortunately only a few drops of rain fell! Everyone contributed the food and drink. A small amount of business was dealt with before tucking into lots of varieties of cakes sandwiches strawberries and cream to name but a few. After the raffle we left for home, feeling at last the picnic had taken place after 16 years wondering "can we or can we not" .

Five members attended the Visual Impairment Breconshire A.G.M and after discussing some issues everyone mingled and got to know other folk with various disabilities. The inevitable food and beverages followed which were so delicious; this brought a wonderful afternoon to a close.

I did my "sponsored glide" on July l0th and what an experience that was! It was fantastic and I would love to do it again sometime. The total monies raised will appear next month, so ‘watch this space’!
