A “Light up a Light Service” will once again be held in St. Mary’s Church, Hay,
at 7 pm on Thursday 18th December 2008 for St. Michael’s Hospice. Light a candle in memory of a loved one.
It is likely that the Hay service will be the only one in our area.

St. Eigon’s Church News
Over the last few weeks we have had an increase in the congregation. Double figures which is really nice to see, and yes still room for more, so what about joining us.
Christmas is just around the corner and so we have arranged our Carol Service to be on Sunday 21st December at six o’clock. It will of course be a candle lit service with a glass of mulled wine and mince pies. We always have a large congregation for this service, and we also draw the Christmas Raffle after the service.
On Sunday 16th November I conducted Matins with Janet Watkins, John Watkins chose three hymns and Janet started us off singing. I have to admit I prefer to conduct the service than sit in the congregation. Father Richard is away at the time of writing this so we shall have Matins again this coming Sunday (21st Dec.) after which I go into hospital for a major operation and will be out of action for a few weeks.

A Memory Tree Starting on Advent - Sunday 30th November 2008
there is going to be a Christmas Tree in St. Mary’s Church. Messages in memory of loved ones can be written on a star and hung on the tree.
The stars will cost £1 each, and will be available from Jill Griffiths 820664;

Proceeds in aid of St. Mary’s Church Fund.
